Consider asking a senior leader to submit a nomination for you to the Rutgers Leadership Academy.
We may reserve a minimum of one seat in each cohort for a highly qualified staff candidate who works in a related area of faculty focus. Nominated staff administrators will be reviewed by the committee alongside all other candidates. However, please note the targeted audience for the ALP-RBHS program are faculty administrators.

Nominations for participation in ALP-RBHS can be submitted by deans, directors, chairs, or other senior administrative leaders who see potential for greater leadership in the nominee. Senior leaders may nominate more than one individual. Once nominated, the faculty administrator will need to complete the online form to be considered.

Working in small groups and across RBHS schools, Fellows will identify a project of importance and develop a proposal to be presented to RBHS senior leaders at the end of the program. These projects are intended to provide a context for applying and furthering the development of leadership competencies, while meaningfully addressing significant needs of the institution and RBHS. For the purposes of this program, Fellows will only be responsible for the design of the project proposal, with the encouragement to implement the project upon completion of the program.
-
The sessions have traditionally met approximately twice a month from January through November (with a break for summer) on Wednesdays from 4:30-7:00 pm, alternating between Newark and New Brunswick or via Zoom.
*NOTE: This is changing after 2022. While we are currently on a calendar-year schedule, we will be shifting back to an academic calendar year. Therefore, sessions will run September 2023 – May 2024.
-
Fellows are expected to attend all in-person sessions. However, we recognize there may be circumstances that may affect a Fellow’s ability to attend all classes and meetings. Fellows should not miss more than one or two sessions during the year-long program.
