On December 7, 2022, the Center for Organizational Leadership hosted an alumni networking reception for over 75 current and past participants of the Center’s academic leadership programs. In celebration of the Center’s 30th anniversary, Dr. Brent Ruben, Founder of the Center and Distinguished Professor of Communication, provided opening remarks to describe the history of the Center and the important role of leadership program alumni in enhancing organizational excellence across Rutgers.
Dr. Jessica Methot, Associate Professor of Human Resource Management in the School of Management and Labor Relations at Rutgers University and Distinguished Research Professor of Management at the University of Exeter Business School, delivered the keynote address on the topic of How Leaders Create and Leverage Organizational Networks. In her presentation, Dr. Methot highlighted how organizations operate through systems of connection that enable formal and informal leaders to share and access resources, build goodwill, and influence others in the pursuit of a shared mission.
We at the Center wish all our colleagues and friends across Rutgers University a joyful and restful holiday season. We look forward to connecting in the New Year through alumni learning and networking opportunities.
