Dr. Vicki Hewitt currently serves as the Executive Secretary to the Rutgers University Senate. As chief staff officer of the Senate, she provides advice and guidance to Senate leadership, monitors and communicates Senate actions, and manages the Senate office. Prior to this, she served as the Director of Graduate Council Administration in the Graduate School at the Pennsylvania State University. Before that she worked with the Faculty Senate at the University of Pennsylvania and served as program director for a research institute at Penn before her work with the Senate.
Dr. Hewitt received her bachelor’s degree with honors in history from Rutgers. She also holds a master’s degree in liberal arts and a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania. Her dissertation was “A Challenge to Excel: Creating a New Image for Elite Women’s Colleges in the 1970s.
