
Raquel Perez, DrPH, R.R.A., R.T. (R)(M)(BS)(ARRT), is the Program Director of the Radiologist Assistant program at Rutgers University School of Health Professions. In this capacity, she leads program operations, oversees curriculum development, ensures accreditation compliance, and supports student and faculty success across academic and clinical environments. Her research focuses on cancer care disparities, particularly breast cancer screening among underserved populations. Dr. Perez was involved in the Cancer Institute of New Jersey’s Women’s Health Study, a research initiative aimed at improving cancer prevention, early detection, and outcomes for women across diverse backgrounds in the state of New Jersey. She currently serves on the Board of the New Jersey Society of Radiologic Technologists (NJSRT) and is a strong advocate for health equity, student mentorship, and workforce development in medical imaging. She earned both her Bachelor’s in Imaging Sciences, a Master’s degree in Radiologist Assistant at Rutgers University, and a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree from Loma Linda University, with a concentration in Health Education.
