K. Maynard serves as the Director of Faculty and Staff Affairs at the Rutgers School of Public Health. In this role, she oversees all aspects of human resources and faculty affairs, supporting the Dean’s Office in advancing the school’s academic, research, and administrative mission. Her portfolio includes hiring and onboarding, appointments and reappointments, promotions and tenure, as well as initiatives to enhance faculty and staff engagement. Before joining Rutgers in 2024, K. spent over two decades at the CUNY School of Professional Studies, where she played a key role in the school’s founding and growth. She led human resources and academic operations, and collaborated closely with academic leadership on faculty affairs, governance, and policy development. K. earned her Master of Fine Arts from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and holds the Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential. Outside of work, she is a native plant gardener, trained birth doula, and is currently pursuing a certification in herbal medicine for women’s health.
