Jessica Gomes serves as the Associate Program Director and Assistant Professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies and Practice at Rutgers School of Health Professions. In this role, she supports academic leadership, curriculum development, and student mentorship, and contributes to ongoing research and service within the PA program. Before joining Rutgers, she practiced clinically in emergency medicine, urgent care, cardiology, and hematology/oncology across several New Jersey hospitals and medical groups. Jessica is recognized as a leader in the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in physician assistant education, frequently presenting at national conferences and contributing scholarly work on AI-driven clinical training and communication skills development. She is deeply engaged in mentorship and program innovation, including directing the Rutgers Live PANCE/PANRE Review Course and chairing the HOPE Clinic Interpreter Program. She is an active member of the Physician Assistant Education Association and the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants. Jessica earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from UMDNJ and her Doctor of Health Science (D.H.Sc.) from the University of Bridgeport.
