Garth Nanni

Dr. Garth S. Nanni has been an integral figure in the field of diagnostic medical sonography, bringing over 17 years of clinical expertise and academic leadership to his roles. His career in sonography began in 2008, working in both acute and ambulatory care settings where he honed his skills in various specialties, including abdominal, obstetrics/gynecology, vascular, and breast sonography. In 2011, Dr. Nanni joined Rutgers University, where his contributions have significantly shaped the educational landscape of the sonography program. As the Clinical Coordinator for the Vascular Sonography Program from 2011 to 2018, he was instrumental in developing curriculum and guiding students through rigorous clinical training. His leadership and vision were recognized, leading to his appointment as the Program Director for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program in 2019, a position he currently holds. Under his direction, the program has continued to thrive, producing competent and highly skilled sonographers. Dr. Nanni is not only a dedicated educator but also an active contributor to the broader sonography community. He has lectured at numerous prestigious events organized by the Society for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) and the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU), sharing his knowledge and advancements in the field with peers and aspiring professionals alike. His academic contributions include the authorship of nine publications, which have added valuable insights to the field of sonography. These works reflect his deep understanding of the subject and his commitment to advancing medical knowledge. Dr. Nanni holds certifications in Abdominal, OB/GYN, Vascular, and Breast Sonography, demonstrating his comprehensive expertise across these critical areas. His blend of clinical experience, academic leadership, and contributions to professional organizations and literature has established him as a respected authority in diagnostic medical sonography.
