Anyelina “Angie” Diaz is the Associate Director for the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program at the School of Nursing at Rutgers University-Newark. Anyelina oversees the EOF department’s financial aid grant process, supervises the EOF counselor staff, and provides programmatic oversight of the recruitment plan and academic support activities. Additionally, she supports the Summer Academy for first-year scholars and the Pre-Junior Clinical Program.
Angie earned her bachelor’s degree from Ramapo College in History and her master’s degree from Rider University in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Counseling. With over 14 years of direct student affairs experience, Anyelina has expertise in counseling, group wellness facilitation, academic advising, disability services, and residence life. Prior to joining The School of Nursing, she was an EOF Counselor/Academic Advisor. She also led initiatives such as; selection and training, supervision, student enrichment and programming, recruitment, and classroom instruction. As a proud EOF alumnus, Anyelina actively engages in advocating and mentoring historically underrepresented populations in college settings.
