Valeria Montoya

Valeria Montoya currently serves as Senior Program Coordinator for Student Engagement and Well-Being at Rutgers University School of Nursing. In this role, she designs and implements large-scale engagement initiatives, orientation programs, peer mentor networks, and wellness models that support the success of diverse undergraduate populations, including traditional, transfer, and second-degree nursing students. With more than a decade of experience in student affairs, social work, and community outreach, Valeria has built her career around empowering students through access-driven programming, cross-campus collaboration, and resource advocacy. She has previously served as a Dean of Culture, Community Outreach Coordinator, and advisor in multiple student support contexts. A proud Rutgers alumna and former McNair Research Scholar, Valeria holds a Master of Social Work in Nonprofit Management and Policy. She is passionate about building inclusive communities, strengthening retention and persistence frameworks, and creating pathways for student success that are responsive to both individual needs and systemic challenges.
