Chaia Grubbs

Chaia N. Grubbs is a licensed clinical social worker with over 13 years of experience creating and leading trauma-informed programs across higher education, community mental health, and nonprofit sectors. She currently serves as the Director of the Office of Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance at Rutgers Health, where she provides direct services to survivors; trains staff and students in trauma-informed care that supports survivors; and spearheads campus-wide violence prevention initiatives. As the founder of Nalani Wellness LLC, she also offers therapy and consultation services centered on trauma recovery, somatic healing interventions, and accessible trauma-informed education for communities. Her leadership spans curriculum design, program evaluation, clinical supervision, and community collaboration, with a focus on advancing healing justice, racial equity, and culturally responsive care. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Spelman College. She is passionate about building systems that empower individuals and communities and developing emerging leaders in clinical and advocacy spaces. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, reading, and walks with her dog Bella.
